In the ongoing project for a full bedroom suit, this installment of two night stands compliment the previous builds of the bed, chest of drawers and dresser.
Construction Notes: This design comes from PlansNow website and is recommended for those with at least intermediate skill level. The plans are easy to follow and come with photos to assist the craftsman.
The majority of the materials for this project came from leftovers from previous projects, with drawer fronts and top lumber being purchased at my local Lowe’s store. The sides of each section are oak plywood. The doors and all trim are solid oak. The trim was custom cut on the router table according to the plan specs.
The drawer runners are poplar. The drawer sides and backs are pine. I stained the drawer fronts prior to glue-up in order to showcase the dovetail joints.
The finish is a Minwax Cherry stain, followed by three coats of semi-gloss polyurethene.
I deviated from the plans and custom-sized these night stands according to my wife’s specifications.
